What may be tested

A report may address identity, natural or synthetic origin, indications of treatment and, for suitable services and specimens, geographic origin. Not every report includes every conclusion.

The laboratory name, report number, date, tested item and a link or image of the complete document should remain connected to the stone.

Publish the exact finding

We do not paraphrase “no indications” as an absolute guarantee, and we do not convert a supplier claim into a laboratory conclusion.

If later testing changes the understanding of a stone, the record should show the update date and explain what changed.
